ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center)
The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) is a national
information system designed to provide users with ready access to an
extensive body of education-related literature. ERIC, established in 1966, is
supported by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational
Research and Improvement, and the National Library of Education.
The ERIC database is the world's largest source of education
information, containing more than 850,000 abstracts of
documents and journal articles on education research and practice.

The Library subscribes to the
ERIC Document collection in PDF format through the ERIC Document Reproduction
Service's (EDRS) E*subscribe Subscription Service. The collection
covers about 80% of all ERIC
documents (ED) from 1996 to the present.
When viewing a record for an ERIC Document, the
number (EDxxxxxx) link at the
top left of each record will connect to a similar record on the EDRS site
(http://www.edrs.com). If a PDF version is available, a link to it
will display at the top of the EDRS page. The PDF file may be opened or
downloaded. A PDF reader (such as Abode Acrobat) is necessary.
ERIC Documents from 1985 to the present are available in the
Microforms area of the Van Pelt Library; earlier documents are in Storage.
